Do I need a parking permit for the moving van?
Amersham falls under Buckinghamshire Council. Whether you need a permit depends heavily on which "half" of the town you are moving to:
Amersham-on-the-Hill: Streets near the station (like Hill Avenue, Sycamore Road, or Woodside Road) are heavily regulated with pay-and-display or permit-only bays.

Old Amersham: The High Street and Market Square have limited parking and very narrow access points. Even without "permits," the sheer lack of space is the real challenge.

At Pawels Removals, we suggest apply for a parking dispensation through the Buckinghamshire Council website, parking dispensation at least 10 working days in advance. We can help you estimate the space needed (usually 2.5 car lengths) to ensure the van has a legal spot right outside your door.

What is the best time to schedule my move?
Amersham is a major hub for the Metropolitan Line and Chiltern Railways. The town effectively "constricts" during the rush hour as commuters head for the station and parents drop off at the many local schools.

The Pinch Point: The A413 and Gore Hill (the steep road connecting the Old and New towns) can become a total bottleneck. Between 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM, traffic tailing back from the station and the roundabout near Tesco can turn a 5-minute trip into a 25-minute crawl.
