Do I need a parking permit for the moving van?
Burton Latimer is managed by North Northamptonshire Council. Tthe town has very few formal Resident Parking Zones. Most residential streets, especially in newer developments like those off Kettering Road or Polwell Lane, are unrestricted.

However, if you are moving into a property on the High Street or near the tight junctions of Church Street and Duke Street, space is limited.

The Parking Waiver: If your move requires the van to park on single yellow lines or within a restricted bay, you should apply for a Parking Waiver.

Pro Tip: If you’re moving into the older "terraced" heart of the town, pop a polite note through your new neighbours' doors a few days early asking them to leave a van-sized gap. The community spirit in Burton is strong, and a little notice goes a long way!

What is the best time to schedule my move?
While Burton Latimer doesn't suffer from "ring road gridlock" like some other towns, it is a major feeder town for people working in nearby Towns.

The Pinch Point: The A6/A14 junction (Junction 10) is the main artery for the town. Between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM, traffic backing up from the A14 can make entering or leaving the town via Kettering Road a slow process.

School Run: St Mary’s and Meadowside Primary schools cause significant localized congestion. Avoid being on the move near Higham Road or Polwell Lane around 8:30 AM and 3:15 PM.

Our Advice: Aim for a 9:30 AM start. This clears the A14 commuter rush and ensures you aren't fighting for road space with parents during the morning drop-off. It also gives you a clear run to the local shops if you realize you've packed the kettle too deep in the van.
