Moving made easy! We made quite a substantial move, (over 375 miles) and Pawel made the process so much easier. Despite many false starts with moving dates, etc, Pawel remained patient and in constant communication. He provided us with excellent packing boxes for clothing, which makes any move considerably simpler. On the day, Pawel and his young fella Peter were cheery, helpful and polite, and even at the other end of an 8 hour drive, they were still upbeat and cheery. Moving house is a stressful event, but Pawel made the whole process so much less so. Do I need a parking permit for the moving van?
Daventry is managed by West Northamptonshire Council. Unlike many towns, most council-run car parks in Daventry town centre are currently free, but they have strict time limits (ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours).

If your new home is in the town centre or on a street with restricted parking (like "Permit Holders Only" or single yellow lines), your removal van will need a Parking Waiver (Dispensation).

The "Yellow Line" Rule: A waiver generally allows vans to park on single yellow lines or in permit bays, but it rarely covers double yellow lines or disabled bays unless specifically agreed.

Pro Tip: If you are moving into the historic Sheaf Street area or near Holy Cross Church, the roads are exceptionally narrow. Contact the Council’s parking team early to discuss a "Bay Suspension" if you need to clear a specific area for the ramp to operate.

What is the best time to schedule my move?
Daventry  is a major logistics hub. This means heavy goods vehicle (HGV) traffic is a constant factor on the surrounding A-roads.

The Pinch Point: The A45 (Stefan Way) and the A361 are the main arteries. Between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM, these roads fill up with commuters heading toward other towns, as well as school-run traffic near the local academies.

The Logistic Rush: Daventry is home to the DIRFT (Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal). Avoid scheduling your van's arrival for exactly 5:00 PM, as the shift changes at the nearby warehouses can lead to a surge of traffic on the northern outskirts.

Our Advice: Aim for a 9:30 AM start. This clears the morning rush and gives your removal team plenty of daylight to finish before the warehouse shift-change traffic begins at 4:30 PM.
