Adam
Disaster completion day, saved by Pawel! Pawel and his team arrived over the weekend to pack and prep the house. We had planned for 3 trips as moving locally and my buyer not moving in same day. Also, I only gave Pawel a week notice! Completion day arrives, no sight of funds until 4pm,super stressed, arrive at new home which is utterly disgusting and half of possessions left behind. Completely at a loss what to do as we could not move in. Pawel immediately explored storage options but my buyer allowed us to leave stuff packed in the garage and we packed things in the van overnight. My wife and young daughter has to stay in a hotel due to how bad things were. Pawel and his team somehow came the next day despite having other jobs to empty the house, move my stuff in and remove my stuff from my previous house. I honestly don't know how we would have survived without Pawel and his teams diligence, adaptability and understanding. I am truly grateful I booked Pawel and will no doubt recommend him everywhere. Pawel was very well priced but naturally I tipped handsomely to him and his team. Thank you again to all of you

FAQ

Do I need a parking permit for the moving van?

Unlike the highly regulated streets of Buckingham, most of Yarnton consists of quiet residential roads without strict permit zones. However, if your new home is on a main thoroughfare like Rutten Lane or near the A44, space is at a premium.

The Regulation: Yarnton falls under Oxfordshire County Council. While you won't typically need a "Resident Permit" for the van in most of the village, you must ensure the vehicle doesn't obstruct the 20mph zones or bus routes.

The "Yellow Line" Rule: If your property is on a stretch with double yellow lines or specific loading restrictions (common near the local shops or school), you will need to apply for a Parking Suspension.

How does the "Oxford Commute" affect my moving day?
Yarnton doesn't have a university to worry about, but it does have the A44 Woodstock Road. This is a major artery into Oxford and can become a complete bottleneck during rush hour.

The Pinch Point: The roundabout connecting the A44 and Cassington Road can see significant tailbacks. If your removal van is coming from the north (Woodstock) or south (Oxford/A34), aim for a mid-morning arrival (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

School Run Stress: William Fletcher Primary School on Rutten Lane creates a localized "gridlock" twice a day. Avoid moving between 8:15 AM – 9:15 AM and 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM, as the narrowness of Rutten Lane makes it nearly impossible for a large HGV to pass safely while parents are parking.

Where can I dispose of packing waste and old furniture?
Oxfordshire has strict rules about waste disposal, and as of 2026, you must book a slot before turning up.
Redbridge Household Waste Recycling Centre: Located south of Yarnton (Old Abingdon Road, OX1 4XG). It is the most comprehensive site nearby.

The "Van" Catch: If you are using a van (even a hired one) to take your boxes to the tip, you must apply for a free Van & Trailer Permit in advance. They will turn you away if you show up in a commercial-sized vehicle without one.

Requirement: Bring your booking confirmation and proof of address (driving license or utility bill). The site is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily.

What is the maximum number of vans you can provide?
We are able to supply up to four Luton capacity type vans to accommodate your moving needs.

Do you offer storage solutions?
While we do not provide storage directly, we are happy to recommend reputable storage facilities to meet your needs. We can transport your items to storage and collect for you and deliver if needed at a later date upon request.

What are the costs associated with your removal services?
Pricing varies as no two jobs are identical. Costs are determined based on factors such as distance, required manpower, and the volume of furniture and boxes.

Will you place our belongings in specific rooms or upstairs as needed?
Yes, we will deliver your items to any designated room or floor as per your instructions within your property.

How do you protect our property during the move?
We employ carpet protectors and rely on the expertise of our trained staff to carefully maneuver furniture, minimizing any risk to your property.

Do you offer a disposal service for unwanted items?
Yes, we can arrange disposal services for any unwanted items identified during your move, upon request. We have added this service as we find whilst moving customers have many unwanted items usually from there loft, garage or shed or maybe due to downsizing.

Yarnton Village

Yarnton is a quiet Oxfordshire village tucked between Oxford and the Cotswolds. It’s defined by historic stone cottages, the landmark St Bartholomew’s Church, and its popular garden center. Once a small farming parish, it’s now a go-to spot for people who want a bit of breathing room without losing quick access to the city.

Bordered by the Oxford Canal and the ancient Pixey and Yarnton Meads, the village feels hidden away despite sitting right on the A44. It’s the kind of place where you can walk through wildflower meadows in the morning and be in a world-class Oxford museum by lunchtime.

Moving to the Village

Yarnton is a top choice for people looking to swap the crowded streets of a larger town or city for something more relaxed. With the village growing steadily, here is what you should know if you’re planning a move:

The Different NeighborhoodsYarnton has a few distinct areas, each with its own feel:
  • The Old Village (Cassington Road & Church Lane): This is where you find the classic "Oxfordshire Stone" look. It’s centered around the 12th-century church and the manor house—perfect if you’re looking for character and a rural atmosphere.

  • The Village Heart (Rutten Lane): This is the main hub of the community, mostly made up of solid houses from the 1950s to the 70s. These homes usually have much bigger gardens than anything being built today and sit within an easy walk of the primary school and shops.

  • The Modern Edge: Newer builds on the outskirts offer energy-efficient living. These are a big hit with commuters because they’re so close to the Oxford Parkway train station.
  •
Growth and Changes
The village is evolving, with several projects aimed at making it better connected:
  • New Housing & Green Space: New developments on the east side of the village are being built with "green buffers" to keep the village feel. These plans include better cycle paths leading toward the Oxford Industrial Park and Begbroke Science Park.

  • The Tech Connection: Being right next to Begbroke Science Park means the village is becoming a popular base for scientists and tech professionals, which keeps the local housing market very active.

  • Flood Resilience: Because of the nearby canal and Thames floodplain, there’s been plenty of work on drainage and flood defenses recently to keep the village dry and secure as it expands.

Getting Around
  • The A44: The main road through the village gives you a straight shot into Oxford or Woodstock. The S3 and NS3 buses run frequently, so you don't always need to rely on a car.

  • Oxford Parkway: A five-minute drive or a quick bike ride gets you to the station, where you can catch a train to London in under an hour.

  • Outdoor Space: If you have a dog or just like a long walk, the canal towpath and the "Yarnton Loop" offer miles of traffic-free paths.

Pawels Tip: Moving Day Survival The Red Lion: Once the last box is off the truck, head to this thatched-roof pub on Cassington Road. It has a great garden and serves a solid pub roast—ideal for your first night in your new home.

Yarnton Home & Garden: This is much more than a garden center; it’s basically the village social hub. The café is great for a quick breakfast when you realize you haven't bought groceries yet, and the shop is perfect for grabbing the home essentials you probably lost in the move.
